Registration and Immunizations

Registration/Admission

North Cedar’s student registration for the 2023–2024 school year will be entirely online. This year, the registration process will have a new look, as families will work through the forms in the parent portal.  For current families, please use the Current Families PowerSchool registration link below starting August 1.  Registration will close August 14. However, you may register with any building secretary during the dates of August 7 – August 18.

For new families, please use the New Families PowerSchool Enrollment Express pre-registration link below to initially enter your child into PowerSchool.  Upon completion of the basic information that we need, you will be sent a confirmation email that we have received your pre-registration information.  When we approve your initial information, you will be sent a welcome email and further instructions to complete the registration process.

–> Current Families PowerSchool Registration – look for “Forms” in the parent portal

–> New Families or New Student PowerSchool Pre-registration – look for your confirmation email and welcome email

Registration must be completed by August 14 in order to ensure that class rosters, bus routes, class schedules, lunch accounts, etc. can be ready for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 23.  Please make sure all information listed is accurate and updated.

If you have questions, please call one of the building secretaries between August 7 and August 18. The phone numbers are:

  • Junior/Senior High School (563) 452-3179
  • Lowden Elementary (563) 941-5383
  • Mechanicsville Elementary (563) 432-6933

If your student will be taking any medication at school on a regular basis, please bring them to the school nurse before August 14. Also, please fill out a permission form for the administration of this medication. The prescription bottle label is the order for prescription medication but over-the-counter medication needs a signed prescription from a physician. As a reminder, be sure that the bottle is properly labeled and that it is a recent (within a year) prescription. Important – if your student uses an inhaler, please be sure that there is a back-up inhaler in the school’s office. Any student who wishes to carry their inhaler must have a physician’s order to do so.

Immunizations

We follow all immunization guidelines and requirements set forth by the Iowa Department of Public Health. Please make arrangements for immunizations with your family physician or the county health department. We will exclude students who are not immunized from school in the event of an epidemic. More information about required immunizations is located at the side of this page
